I DON'T THINK THAT'S A GOOD IDEA

If I have to hear that one more time, I think I may just combust.

There are more moments in our lives where we stop and think... Shit. This probably isn't a good idea. And for those particular moments, how do we really know if that's the truth? What do we really know about what is or isn't possible? We aren't fortune tellers nor do any of us know ourselves so well that we can predict what is and isn't a good idea. And even if it isn't, what's the harm in diving into the deep end? Gravity so, swim.

I've had a total of four people feed this exact line, "I don't think it's a good idea." I find it such a peculiar response to such a forecast. What do we really know about the future? What are we so afraid of? And, yeah, I get it. We're all scared of getting hurt, falling in love, being alone, not finding the one. But, what would happen if we actually tried? How could we be so afraid of something that could be so beautiful? Does fear really control your life? I asked someone that today. He didn't know. And that's okay, I guess. Something I learned recently is I can't help anyone more than I can help myself. If someone doesn't know what it is that holds them back, how am I to know any better?

Nelson Mandela came up tonight -

"May your choices reflect your hopes, not your fears."

I hope to meet a man that is anything but fearful.
